Underlay

Woven, hessian-backed, or secondary backed carpets need underlay, but it’s not always necessary for a felt backed carpet. However, new underlay will increase the life span of the carpet, improve the look and make it feel more luxurious, as well as improving the sound and heat insulation. If you already have underlay, in most cases it doesn’t need replacing when you buy a new carpet.
